【摘要】:Thispracticedescribesmethodsforevaluatingtheshearcapacityofatypicalsectionofaframedwall,supportedonarigidfoundationandhavingloadappliedintheplaneofthewallalongtheedgeoppositetherigidsupportandinadirectionparalleltoit.Theobjectiveistoprovideadeterminationoftheshearstiffnessandstrengthofanystructurallight-framewallconfigurationtobeusedasashear-wallonarigidsupport.LimitationsThispracticeisnotintendedtobeusedasabasisforclassifyingsheathingshearcapacityorasanevaluationofcombinedflexureandshearresultingfromthewallbeingloadedonaflexiblefoundation.Theeffectofsheathingvariationsisassessedbyholdingallothervariablesconstant.Permittedvariationsinframingconfigurationandboundaryconditions,however,requireaccuratedocumentationofthetestsetuptovalidateacross-studycomparisonsofsheathingcontributiontowallshearcapacity.Awalltestedonaflexiblefoundationisevaluatedbycomparingshearstiffnessandstrengthresultstothoseofanidenticalwalltestedonarigidfoundation,followingthispractice.However,nomethodsaregivenforthemeasurementofwallbendingdisplacementsorassessmentofstressdistributionresultingfromfoundationflexure.Anyextrapolationofwallrackingbehaviorfromthefoundationconditionsspecifiedbythispracticetoflexibleconditionsshallbedonewiththesupportofacomparativetestonarepresentativefoundation.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
